Reggie goes off
What would you do if you had less then 24 hours before everything was gone? Would the people who were always there before be there for you now? Or would they have moved on without you knowing, and there you’d be alone? Ending up all alone because you couldn’t think for one god damn second about what you were doing and who you were hurting. You were going through the ride of a lifetime and everything passed by you like a blur. A blur of colors and sounds that you’ll never exactly recall. You missed her laughing while she was puking on my front porch. You missed the cutest old man who told us a story that would have changed you. You missed my lowest point. You ignored my highest moments. You’re going, you’re going, you’re going, you’re gone. And now who’s going to save you? He isn’t coming back as expected. He said he’d be waiting for you, that he loved you, and that he needed you. He said all the right things. Right? But he left you. Left? Where is he now? What do you want to hear? Another lie? Another empty promise to throw in the bottomless pit? Close your eyes and imagine the happiest time you’ve had. When you laughed so hard it made your stomach sick. Was it with that person? The one that made you cry so hard you couldn’t breathe? Or is it us, the people who made you laugh for hours, hugged you as you cried and yelled? You might be wishing you would have set your priorities straight or you might be thinking something like, you did everything you wanted to. Either way, look, you’re alone. Don’t you feel it? Can’t you see? We aren’t there; we left while you were in your daze. We screamed in your face and we waved our arms in hopes of getting a glimpse of the old soul we once knew and loved, but you didn’t blink twice. And here we are, at a very familiar place where you realize you’re alone and the only people who can really make you feel better are not coming around this time. We’re going, we’re going, and we’re going, going gone.
